EPL-2021/2022 Start Today- Who will be the Champion

MU is hopeless
Still behind Spurs and having playing two games more
Even Arsenal is running scared of spurs
Asked for postponement
Don’t be surprised Spurs finish ahead of Chelshit
Spurs have 4 games in hand and only 10 points behind Chelshit
If Spurs beat Chelshit next weekend, Chelshit might not even qualify for CL!

Tampines & West Coast GRCs are there for the taking

Actually the arsenal request for postponement should be rejected. Their situation is not due to covid. If they decided to have a thin squad or rely on many Afcon players, it's their problem. Besides, this kind of situation with player shortage is what their u23 teams are for.

Continho in the 77' and 81' respectively. MU was very unfortunate not able to hold on to the win.  Next match for MU will be against Brentford. Hope they will not falter.

Indeed a gripping game... credit goes to Coutinho n Ramsey with their combinations and had something for fans to cheer for...
MU was controlling the game well but somehow dumbfounded by Coutinho impact...
AVL could have won the game if not for DDG excellent saves...

WHU 2 Leeds 3

Exciting match... Jack Harrison hat trick! Set the game alive with aplomb... cool finish third goal... Raphinha almost added another from free kick... struck the post

FT
WHU 2 Leeds 3

Last few minutes in search of a draw... WHU came close in final stages but just couldn't get the ball past Meslier... luck was not on their side today

Yes! An exciting match. A one for one reply. LU has a 4th goal that was ruled offside   That gives WHU a chance to fight on for a draw. But, it was not meant to be. Anyway, it was a good fight display by both teams.

Now that Rafa Benitez’s calamitous reign is over, Everton need to do two things when identifying his successor – look to the future and reclaim the club’s identity – and that means bringing in Wayne Rooney.

Brentford 1 MU 3

A mixed performance in each half with a forgettable 45mins... the only player in first half was DDG... if not for his brilliant saves MU could have been chasing shadows or down two goals with their disjointed display...

2nd half saw three locals getting on scoresheet... Elanga Greenwood n Rashy... which should boost his morale after breaking the scoring duck...

A strong showing n Brilliant close control by Elanga helped MU lead in the much improved 2nd half... another emerging scoring talent n hope he will continue his form... bringing another striker dimension...
2nd goal good interplay by the Portugueses n unselfishly let Greenwood finishing off the slick passing...
What more to say for Rashy... Great technique to score from tight angle

Chelsea is floundering n MU have to step up their gear n translate this 2nd half performance in every full 90min games

Today 2nd leg of the EFL Semi-Final match btw Arsenal & Liverpool will kick off at 4.00 am.  The 1st leg result was a draw with Arsenal playing with 10 men team. Hard call on this one. I

Arsenal didn't try to postpone the EFL match? I thought they claim they got not enough players. They only try to postpone the match if it's a league game.

Tonight interesting matches

Everton vs AVL
Brentford vs Wolves
Leeds vs Newcastle
MU vs WHU

Norwich are saving themselves at the moment with successive wins... they trounced the Hornets with three goals... and Ranieri could b another to b shown through d door...

As caretaker can local hero Duncan Ferguson lift the Toffees from their slump and get one over Stevie G? On homeground Goodison Park... hope they come good

Wolves should win this game judging by recent poor performance of Brentford... Jimenez to score?

MU at Old Trafford against former Moyes... if MU can keep it compact in the middle n tight upfront a win may be possible plus 90 mins full concentration... WHU under Moyes is a fighting team as seen recently by their games... dangerous on counter with Rice in the middle... Antonio n Bowen will prove menace to MU defence...

I pick AVL to win. The new signing P Coutinho and J. Ramsey performances in the match against MU will inspire the team to win this match against Everton.
Wolves I agree will continue their winning streak against Brentford.
MU and WH tough call.

Very odd that Rooney is even in the running. He doesn't strike me as the brightest light bulb. Not enough tactical acumen to be an EPL manager, no matter how good a player he was.

End to end action MU vs WHU... both team look close to scoring... Fred... close volley...Bowen n Soucek... dipping header from corner... WHU almost lead a goal if not for DDG reactive save from the corner bottom... phew... close shave!

In the end it was Rashy whom tapped in late late into the extra mins of play! GOAL! It was close to a call of offside for Cavani... n he was in line!
MU is back into the mix... with this controversial win they r fourth!

Surely confidence is back with Rashford and soon the flow of goals...

Soto 1 MC 1

Soto end the winning run of MC by securing an unlikely draw against them

Soto took the initiative and lead through a well volleyed outside of foot to send Soto fans into hysteria... deserveringly it was a fair game as Soto Forster makes some good saves and Soto holding out MC attacks...

With this draw it gave the chasing pack a ray of hope to step up their run and mount pressure on MC... hopefully they break down  Big Grin

MU must not rest on their laurels as Spurs have games in hand and can catch up and overtake the fourth spot...

Round up of match results for run up table

Arsenal 0 Burnley 0
Chelsea 2 Tottenham 0

Arsenal stumbled in their quest to gain ground as they missed numerous chances to close d gap with Chelsea... though they dominated the match n Burnley surviving the onslaught Arsenal missed the glaring chance notably by Lacazette...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8gtXSyIvlic

Conte magic fizzled out at Spurs as he made a dismay return to Stamford Bridge
The Blues were hungrier n set out to prove a point against Conte as witnessed in all their matches against Spurs
Both Hakim n Silva got the winning goals in particular Hakim perfect curl of the ball outside the box into top corner... he could have added another but Lloris made a diving brilliant save

Very unfortunate for Arsenal not to have scored any goals against Burnley. So many close calls.

MU vs Boro in fourth round FA Cup

MU is not looking good in this Jan transfer window with VDB n Martial out on loan with no new faces coming in... to add more misery Greenwood was arrested for assault n now pending further investigations... Will b a real shame as he needs time to hone his lethal instincts in front of goal...

Liverpool snapped up Luis Diaz  from Porto with MU reportedly also interested... MC has added Alvarez to their scoring department...
Judging from reports these signings seem to b great business well done...

Wolves has added one Kimchi to their ranks  Big Grin

Back to FA Cup... Boro is another bogey team to MU over the years... Cup competitions always spring surprises... if Boro can knock out MU give credit to them... if MU can use this game to fine tune their challenge in their run for champions leag spot can justify their lacklustre in Jan transfers...but is always hard business to do in this window...

MU is out of the competition. Lost on penalty kicks. Boro's equaliser should not have been given .(handball) . But Boro took their chances. MU is simply not good enough.

MU doesn't have the cutting edge in front of goal... chances after chances the goals always seem to elude them...  Pogba can let him go... his heart is not at Old Trafford... the team on n off the field seemed to b distracted... Rashy n Elanga fluffed their chances... anyway as mentioned Boro is a bogey team to MU... there is a psychological barrier to get one over them...  Big Grin
