To sell drinks. Why don’t you put yourself in their shoes. You go open a drink stall and let your customer consume outside drinks. Monkey see monkey do. If it is permissible, more and more customer will do the same thing. See how you cover your overheads w less and less drink sales. The rent the utilities and the workers salaries

There could be a sign indicating, "No outside food and drinks' .........which means not allowed to bring in the sugar cane juice there, even if the coffee shop does not sell sugar cane juice..........

it is not fair to food shop operator to bring outside food unless owner agree.
in singapore shop space is very expensive. the money pay for food, a large proportion goes to the seat and table one uses. so to bring outside food is not paying for the service and profit to the shop owner.
second what if the food bought in causes good poisioning. who is responsible is one thing. the shop name surely got hit. people will say x x food shop got food poisioning the other day. few will say what food was consume or even if it is from the shop. market talk will spread like wild fire. by the time things are clarify the damage done already.
so please have a heart for the shop operators.
