There is a lot of differences btw “No China Attack” & “No arms attack”. The former mean China never attacked,  the latter mean China attacked but not using arms tt Philippines can invoke article 51 of UN CHARTER and retrospectively using arms to defend themselves.

Philippines maintained tt knifes,  looting and severed thumb happened.  They never admitted there was no attacks.

Knife and looting are often used by Pirates at sea. Someone should be ashamed of using such a tactic, especially when that someone came from the World's second-largest economy of the World.

Let the readers decide.  It is very clear to me what is arms attack and what is just an attack. ABS News right, they also quoted the army saying they have been attacked by pirates

No need others to decide as they are not involved.

Only both sides of China and Philippines agreement of "NOT armed attack" is enough.

This is exactly the sort of shiit that puts other ASEAN countries (including Singapore) in a bad position. The whole idea around this "we are friends with everyone and don't choose sides" official policy was to slowly pivot towards a China-led soft order while at the same time leverage whatever that is left of the receding US influence as long as possible.

This requires the US to remain as a somewhat ambiguous but credible player in the vie for influence in Southeast Asia. By openly forcing the issue out in the open, the Philippines has exposed US inadequacy on two fronts:

1) The most obvious one optically is of course US inaction and "run road" display when their ally got hammered. That the Philippines has to now publish its resupply schedule in accordance to Chinese demands and come out to personally claim all this is just an accident and misunderstanding severely damages US standing among ASEAN nations and depreciates whatever value it has to be leverage in our pivot.

2) The inability of the US to even control Philippine elites to stop and desist this nonsense of forcing the issue out in the open. This suggests that US influence even within its most natural ally and ex-colony is far less extensive than outsiders are led to believe. The whole idea is to induce the Philippines to shit stir and then order them to back down to a cooler level as and when it likes, instead the Pinoys are now openly forcing the issue and at the same time causing reputational damage to the US's global security guarantee.

A classic case of an idiot who does stupid things and in the process and not only harms himself but drags everyone in the team through mud.
