Cannot always depend on the old and experienced member to venture out and conquer new territory. The younger generation have to fight for themselves. Look at Sengkang. It's a good example.

Considering that the polls came right after RK saga & accusations of "foreign interference", the fact that they tighten grip on strongholds & hammered away at Tampines to the point of collapse.. I say that they did well

Actually WP has done well and could have won Tampines and J. Kayu if not for the 5% national swing. Thus, it’s not a bad decision on their part of strategy. Of cos, on hindsight, could have fielded a stronger candidate in J. Kayu or Tampines (actually Tampines is a very strong and diverse team already) , but it’s all on hindsight right? Also, they wouldn’t have expected a last minute change for GKY to cross to Punggol… All in all, WP strategy didn’t really failed or have done very badly this GE

That assumption is easier said on hindsight

Looking at the way Pritam lead, likely a collective decision by their inner circle including LTK himself to not repeat a LTK move because the political situation in 2025 totally different from 2011 - such a move if repeated today is highly risky vs the rewards, given the odds that Aljunied & Sengkang are unlikely to fall off WP hands

2011 was for survival of the alternative voice in Parliament (LTK was the lone voice for a very long time). The voters knew what was at stake & they elected Aljunied to defend their own interest in Parliament. 

Pritam echoed his party leadership when he openly said that WP is a small party. The message is loud & clear that WP does not want to be the one to upset the status quo too fast. Any change to SG poltical landscape should be gradual because like it or not we've been with the incumbent for 60 long years (better the devil you know) & anything else than them is an "UNKNOWN unknown" no responsible electorate can deal with.

All the WP held constituencies have increased their vote percentage. All the other contested seats received more than 40% of the vote count with 2 very close fights, within <3 percentage difference. They have also gained another two NCMP seats.

The other two strong opposition parties have their vote percentage much much reduced. Only CSJ's remained high!

On the whole, the WP results have improved despite the vast national swing!
