Workers work like slaves, 12 hour shift plus OT, this is how they run the company to maximise profits.

TSMC is also like that, that is why it faces problems hiring American workers as nobody wants to work long hours and do OTs in the U.S., and the union is very powerful to protect workers rights unlike in Taiwan. To resolve that problem it brought hundreds of Taiwanese engineers to the U.S.

Working seven days a week until 2 a.m. sounds like a grueling schedule. I get that some jobs, especially in tech, can have extended hours, but that's a lot to ask of employees. Everyone deserves a decent work-life balance. Companies need to consider worker's rights and well-being. No job should come at the expense of personal health and happiness. Maybe it’s time to consider how work policies impact employees in the long run. Everyone deserves to have time for themselves and their loved ones.

True lah, last time I visited Taipei to meet a Taiwanese manager in his office…to my surprise he slept in office at night and his wife divorced him.

It’s mainly because the workers enjoy their work. Last time when young I always worked until 3, 4am. Now at most 1, 2am

For R&D, you cannot stop when you’re almost there. Once you stop, you’ll hv to redo all over again

In the U.S. there is strong union that will protect workers wellbeing…that is why Nvidia and TSMC opened factories in Taiwan to squeeze local workers who are willing to work long hours for better pay (still much lower than that in the U.S.) and there is no workers protection in Taiwan.

I thought Taiwanese very proud of their freedom in expression.

Why they never protest with demonstration against such tyranny Nvidia bosses? Applying draconian working conditions over the staff. 7 days job till 2am, yet so proud of it publicly?

Unlike in the West under Democracy rules, workers, unions and human right groups will definitely voice up against the government and private entity.

Double standard? Strange...🤔
