Senior counsel Harpreet Singh and 3 other newer faces were confirmed on WP ticket for Punggol GRC?.

(Yes, is confirmed) WP face off at May 3 polls against PAP team headed by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong in very newest group representation constituency.

Elsewhere, WP vice-chairman Faisal Manap has left the party’s Aljunied GRC crown jewel to contest Tampines GRC with four others, pitting the team against the PAP and two other opposition parties in a four-cornered fight...On WP front, there is talk that it could field senior counsel Harpreet Singh Nehal – regarded “star catch” by WP party – in East Coast GRC?. “He, don’t want to be parachuted anywhere safe,”
Mr Harpreet Singh had said in an interview on April 11.

Note: On yesterday May 3. He's suddenly was parachuted in newest Punggol GRC. Where PAP party is waiting for him. So WP boss is sweating is out.  Bigeyes

Chee Soon Juan needs to explain why he abandoned Bukit Batok for Sembawang West, says Ong Ye Kung. Mr Ong Ye Kung said he would not be able to take care of Sembawang West residents if SDP chief Chee Soon Juan became MP for the single-seat ward, as Dr Chee would constantly challenge him and not work with him.

Here ..The longest serving is former Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, who entered politics in 1992. He had been an MP in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC since 1997, having been elected to represent the constituency six times. Former Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, who turned up at the nomination centre for East Coast and Punggol GRCs, also announced his retirement from politics in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Mr Heng, a three-term MP, entered politics in 2011 in Tampines GRC. In 2020, he was the subject of a late-hour switch from Tampines to East Coast GRCs, but on Wednesday his name did not appear on any of the PAP’s slates.

Former Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, who announced his retirement on Apr 18, had been in parliament for five terms, since 2006.

No point raising the retirement age when there is no job for them. Many of them already go into early retirement before hitting 50.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
1. Literal Reappearance: Something previously out of sight or unknown become visible or evident again, example, "Missing & appear again on computer screen" previously unseen but now reappeared on screen.
2. Seem or appearing tobe True or happening again: Something might seem like ihappening or is true again. For eg: "Storm appear approaching" suggests storm seemingly approaching, usage often implies uncertainty or a feeling of something being likely, but not definitively confirmed.

S'PORE - Educational reform remains one of biggest priorities of the WP’s Sengkang team, is working on behalf of constituency largely made up of young families, said Associate Professor Jamus Lim.

These changes range from smaller class sizes – which the team has argued for in Parliament – to later school start times, because of the huge difference such policies can make to children’s learning, said Prof Lim.

S'PORE: As they say, in politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests. Pundits also say that when you go into politics, you sleep with strange bedfellows, most often sleep with enemy. Is this what’s happening to Elysa Chen?

She was still a correspondent, she thought People’s Action Party (PAP) made all the decisions for people it governs and employs. A detractor of S'pore’s ruling party, today, she’s a candidate under its banner. Why the sudden flip-flop?. Currently a contender vying for General Election with PAP, Chen estimated that bad news and rough times come in diverse forms.

“It is a cavalier and irresponsible approach towards the livelihood and well-being of all Singaporeans,” PM Wong said, speaking to the media on the sidelines of a walkabout at One Punggol Hawker Centre on April 29.

“Let’s reject this kind of negative politics. You should be better than this.

On Mr Gan, Mr Singh said it was “very strange” that the Cabinet minister was not elected into the PAP’s latest central executive committee in 2024, and asked whether it could be because he was ready to retire and did not plan to run in this election. He also took a jab at Mr Gan’s comments at an earlier PAP rally in Punggol, where Deputy Prime Minister said he would “talk to his good friend”, PM Wong, to get funds for infrastructure in the town. “Do I need to be his friend for taxpayer funding to be allocated to Punggol? No,” Mr Singh said.

PM Wong said that while DPM Gan is a friend, he is also a key member of his team, adding such senior ministers in the Cabinet bring with them experience and proven capabilities. “They can think about new solutions that will improve things on the ground, innovative ways to get things done,” PM Wong said. “They bring these up in our Cabinet meetings, we discuss, we share and we implement them. That’s how we improve things in Singapore. That’s how we have built today’s S'pore, that’s how we continue to make life better for Singaporeans.”
