Scripture readings for Christmas

Stupiak fellow...I can also use AI to rebuke your claims..

The removal or omission of certain verses and passages in modern Bible translations often stems from advances in biblical scholarship and textual criticism, which involve the study of ancient manuscripts and the historical context of the texts. Here are several key reasons why some verses may be omitted or altered in contemporary translations:

1. **Manuscript Evidence**: Earlier translations of the Bible were often based on a limited set of manuscripts. With the discovery of older and more reliable manuscripts, scholars found that some verses present in the King James Version (KJV) or other early translations were not included in the earliest manuscripts, leading to their omission in newer translations.

2. **Textual Variations**: Different Christian traditions have used varying manuscripts over the centuries. The Textus Receptus, which served as the basis for the KJV, differs in certain respects from the critical texts used by most modern translations, which often rely on the earliest and most reliable manuscripts like the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Alexandrian texts.

3. **Translation Philosophy**: Different translations adopt various methodologies; some prioritize word-for-word translations (formal equivalence) while others seek thought-for-thought translations (dynamic equivalence). This can result in differences in how verses are rendered or included.

4. **Scholarly Consensus**: The majority of biblical scholars agree that certain verses lack authentic historical and theological grounding based on manuscript evidence. This consensus can lead to omissions in modern translations that aim for accuracy and scholarly integrity.

5. **Clarification of Meaning**: Some verses that may seem unclear or redundant in the context of the overall message of the Bible may be omitted to enhance readability and comprehension.

6. **Theological Consensus**: In some cases, certain verses may be deemed to have been later additions or reflect theological positions that evolved after the texts were initially written.

It’s important to note that the core teachings and doctrines of Christianity remain consistent across different translations, even if some specific verses may vary. Most modern translations provide footnotes or annotations that indicate omitted verses or differences in manuscript traditions for transparency.

It’s not arguing it’s put some sense into their mind about salvation
Leading them to the correct path
If to keep quiet means u r wrong n dare not fight back
Many will be lead to astray to path of destruction
The disciples of Jesus also preached
Without ceasing until persecuted to death
We cannot be selfish and only worship self to gain rewards
We are not fighting against flesh and blood but the principalities of the darkness

Christians believe Jesus is God n saved by His Grace not by works alone
Believe trinity

Moslem believe obey the mosaic laws n don’t believe Jesus is God
Believe they are good in 5 times per day prayer n no eat pork

But
No one is good except God Himself
If u say u r good u have fallen into pride

Jesus asked a second time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter answered, “Yes, Lord, you know I love you!” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus told him. Jesus asked a third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus had asked him three times if he loved him.

No pengyu. We don't say we are good because we pray 5 times a day and we don't eat pork.

But you are missing one very important point.

How can you trust the Bible when you already know people have been adding verses to and removing verses from the scriptures? Even our ignoramus pinky already confirmed that people have been doing that to the Bible from his AI post this morning.

How do you know what you're reading in the Bible is not a fraudulent addition to the Bible?

When I interpret John 17:3 literally, you don't seem to agree. Of course, I do understand why you must reject the literal interpretation of that verse because you're a Trinitarian and that verse which says only 1 person is the true God is the metaphorical spanner in the Trinity.

Still John 17:3.....what is so hard to understand

You brought up a very good point lah! Big Grin I was taught to obey the Word of God and do what He says by faith lah! Just like the Israelites who crossed the Red Sea lah! By faith, they had to step into the water before it was parted lah! If they had hesitated to move, the water would never have been parted lah!

Who told you that? Read the Bible, Exodus 14. Where does it say if the Israelites hesitated, the sea would not part?

Okay. We shall put aside the people who will be punished for adding and deleting verses from the Bible. The question is about you. How are you sure that what you're reading is true and not false stuff put into the Bible which we know already happened?
