Scripture readings for Christmas

(Yesterday, 08:34 PM)Ali Imran Wrote:  Did the thief have time to keep the Law. The answer is no.

So Where does the thief ends up? In paradise! Is he judged on whether he kept the laws or by faith through grace?

Did the thief have time to obey the law?

As I've said, you're redefining the word "only".

Jesus said the Father is the ONLY true God.

The Father said He alone is God.

Jesus denies that he is God, on more than 1 occasion in the Gospels.

Jesus as a man calling the Father in heaven as the only true God....nothing wrong with the statement..now 2 verses later john17:5...the general concensus is that this verse is part of Jesus' prayer to the Father, and it expresses his desire to be restored to the divine glory he shared with God before creation.

So do dying atheists who decide to recite their Shahada before their final breath have the time to obey the law? According to Islam, where do they go after death?

Are you trying to say that the Father was the only true God when Jesus was in this world?

And I noticed you added "divine" to the word glory which doesn't exist in that verse.

Only God knows what is in the heart of a man. I have no idea if you make up a scenario like that. But in the Hadith, our Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم told us about a sinner who died while on his way to repentance and he received salvation, just like that thief.

Yes ..there is so much Jesus as a man could take ..so there is nothing wrong to address His Father as the only true God in a prayer..He is being respectful..

Add what divine? Where? Bible has so many version, KJV, NIV..etc

So Jesus wasn't a true God when he said the Father is the only true God?

So you're adding your own word to the verse, to make it in line with your theology.

There are videos where Moslems reassure dying atheists that they will enter paradise after reciting the Shahada just before their last breath. Clearly, their salvation is seen as based on faith alone rather than their deeds.
