Scripture readings for Christmas

Israel is another name for Yaqoob.
Israel means servant of God or bounded by God’s covenant.

Israelites originated from Jacob.
However Torah was given to Moses. So Jacob or his children weren’t Jew.

(24-07-2025, 06:50 PM)pinkpanther Wrote:  So Jacob is not an israelite? What is Jacob's name?

Jacob is the start of Israelites. His name is Jacob / Yaqoob.

Torah was given to Moses.Between Jacob to Moses, There were so many Generations, They didn’t know Torah.During the same period Israelites have killed many prophets came to them.

Jacob's name is Jacob.

He was given the name Israel later. So Jacob was Israel per se.

His descendants were known as bani Israel, meaning the children of Israel.

The Bible suggests that being "Israelite" isn't solely about ethnic descent, but also about faith and alignment with God....so technically Isaac and Jacob are israelites....you can be consider an israelite if you encompass faith, obedience, and a relationship with God

Just like islam claims that all humans are born moslem or anyone who submits to one God is moslem

Bani means children of. You often see that in the names of your Malay friends. Bin or binte.

Bani Israel means children of Israel.

It's as simple as that.

anyone can be an "Israelite" in the spiritual sense meaning they can become part of God's people. So do you think Isaac can be an Israelite?

So now you jump to the Quran to support your claims after you ditch the Bible?

This was the advice of Abraham—as well as Jacob—to his children, ˹saying˺, “Indeed, Allah has chosen for you this faith; so do not die except in ˹a state of full˺ submission.”

Or did you witness when death came to Jacob? He asked his children, “Who will you worship after my passing?” They replied, “We will ˹continue to˺ worship your God, the God of your forefathers—Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac—the One God. And to Him we ˹all˺ submit.”

That was a community that had already gone before. For them is what they earned and for you is what you have earned. And you will not be accountable for what they have done.

The Jews and Christians each say, “Follow our faith to be ˹rightly˺ guided.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “No! We follow the faith of Abraham, the upright—who was not a polytheist.”

Say, ˹O believers,˺ “We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; and what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.”Quran 2:132-136

Israelites are descendants of Jacob’s Children.

Issac was born before Jacob

The Bible emphasizes that spiritual inheritance and being part of God's people are open to anyone through faith, making it possible for anyone to be considered a descendant of Jacob in a spiritual sense.

Isaac was born before Jacob and surely hệ has faith and obedience to be considered as an israelite and he is the forefather of israelites

Issac was connected to Jacob by blood line only.

Both Issac and Jacob are prophets. They had their own covenants.

Jacob had 12 children. Quran mentioned only his son Joseph( Yusuf) as Prophet. Quran describes him as a handsome prophet.

You were quoting some verses from Matthew, and you said, "Jesus is saying He is God."

You're obviously mistaken. No where in that verse did Jesus say he is God.
