What proof do you want? You're the one who said Christian women can seek divorce in the case of an abusive husband, which is against the law given by Jesus in Matthew 19.

In modern times...they are given their rights to seek divorce! Women are independent and much learned! They were submissive back in the old days because there is hardly anything they can do besides cooking, cleaning and taking care of the family. There is only so much a woman can do

Now if I show them the verse and say.." see I own you, it is written in the book"
They will shove that middle finger up your arse....it is the harsh reality of life  Big Grin
Times have changed my friend...

Why do we have to talk abt this again and again Ali...

The 10 commandments only? Even that you don't keep. Number 4 said to keep the Sabbath. You've discarded that already. And you've discarded hundreds of other laws found in the Bible. That means, your Bible is now irrelevant.

Do you agree with that?

I have kept my sabbath holy by attending sabbath services ok....sometimes I might miss a few but that's besides the point...

I did not say the laws need to be discarded because it is the original laws...I only say it needs to be reviewed in this time and age...Don anyhow put words in my mouth!

Ok.

So Jesus's teachings in the NT must be reviewed by modern men and women. Is that right?

That is the question you should ask.

I watched a video about Muhammad and the Quran. I have some points to write but since this is Singapore, I cannot put it in writing here..The government will not allow it though you'd been allowed to mock Christianity.

as much as I like to stone a woman who commits adultery..it is still against the law...I cannot win in court if I tell the jury that my book says so right!!

So Ali..pls don play the double headed snake.!..the fact is we try to apply the God's laws and man made laws to the best that we can achieve in our daily lives

Video from Muslim scholars? Or from anti-Islam YouTubers who want to stop the Christians from embracing Islam so they spread lies about our faith.

I don't like to stone anybody.

In the Bible, there is a law where the rape victim must marry the rapist and they cannot divorce. I agree such a law cannot be practiced in modern times.

So, doesn't that make the Bible irrelevant? Or at the very least, inadequate?

The cannot divorce law, the one we were discussing a while ago. There are others too, like the child must be put to death if they kurang ajar to the parents.

I am sure the divorce law can be reviewed....it is up for debate
If the husband is Christian and the wife is Buddhist...then the verse holds no weight Big Grin

Child is still a child...can you suka suka put the child to death??

In muh time...it is OK to keep slaves...it is OK to engage sexual Acts with female captives...does that make the quran irrelevant?

Can you keep this law in modern times?

It's in the Bible. And Jesus quoted it too in Mark 7.

It's not me who suka suka brought that law.

Even today, if you have a female captive, you can marry her and have sex with her. But of course, this is modern times and we cannot imagine a scenario where you can get a female captive to marry you.

Still relevant.

Btw, if you want to know more about our prophet or the Quran, please ask. I'm happy to have a civil discussion with you.

I don't mock Christianity. I am critical of your faith, respectfully.

Why in the first place would a female captive be willing to married her captor? It does not make sense unless it is by force!

This is a sickening act...in ww2..the Japanese would rape all the female captives..... they don sell them any hopes of marriage my friend...
Same as the Americans who invaded vietnam...sell the natives ladies hope of marriage...then run away when the country recalled every soldiers back!

In the ancient days, when tribes went to war, they killed the men. What do you think will happen to the women of the losing tribe? They have no where to go and no means of survival.

We don change what is written in the bible ....at that time his laws are relevant because women hold no status...

It is only up for a debate

Not now my friend...if a female captive surrenders...you don force yourself on her.
EitherYou hand her to authorities or you let her go...if she is just a civilian!...Allah does not teach you to do these kind of Acts anymore..

Or you can still do it according to the quran?
That's why I reject the quran and the moslem way of life.
Even muh can take his adopted son's wife as his own...what more can I say?
