Singapore lies outside the 'ring of fire' where countries are plague with earthquakes, Typhoon and volcanic eruptions.................we should consider ourselves as fortunate.........

Low risk zone doesn't mean that there will be no quakes.
China Guangdong Foshan lies even further from the "ring of fire" and is located in a quake risk zone even lower than Spore,
but it had a 3.2 quake (8km depth) just 3 days ago.
So Spore could see a 4-5 level quake since it is very near to Sumatra.
Foshan lies in a light green (safer) zone while Spore lies in a darker green zone:
