It's just three months into her internship at a video production company, but Jane* is already feeling the heat.

With deadlines piling up, starting work at 11am and leaving the office at 9pm is something of a norm these days, the 19-year-old, who declined to reveal her real name, told AsiaOne.

Er... Is this some sort of bad joke? A 11am to 9pm work period is only 10 hours and quite standard compared to most other office jobs, the only unique part is they start and end 2 hours later. It's about as normal and work life balance as a job can go.

I don't want to launch into a tirade about how in the past people used to work long hours yada yada, but whining and bitching about standard work hours? What exactly do these people want? Work a few hours a day and then spend the rest of the time "socializing with friends"?

We will likely see more molest cases here due to stress. Just don't get caught. Happy hours await you if you not caught as you can do it over again n again.

when they should use Compass Framework

to allow Young Genuine Good FTs to come to work in SG

The general public Strawberry generation has no alternative but to buy HDB BTO flats at a high price. It is stressful for a young couple to afford these homes.......... Angry

Why people keep mention " Jiak liao bee civil servant " there are valid reason

for me should be " Highly pay Support officer " just call sub contractor go check , fix the problem , take photos ok job done send back ,

the civil servant just follow up email back tell end user ok Job done.

Don't believe me? Just go ask those Sub contractors got tender with Any Govt sectors, from schools , polytechnics up to HDB etc

Some sub con ever said tell the officer come down see they claim " busy " tell them fix first in fact " having coffee breaks "

than later got flaws , flip flop say why do first blah blah

Best part always push to sub con when serious thing happen than " any how LD aka fine them "

In fact Not every sub contractor like to get Govt project , is like they seriously cannot find any clients than no choice go bid for tender in Gibiz

No, our young should not work inside CS because they acquire no skills inside. It's better that they work in the private sector for some time before going on to CS. That way, they can bring their experience there and make CS a better place.

Nah, partly is usually been hired is from ' other Govt sector " they just switch role

IF from " private one " they cannot change anything because they are NOT Holding the Top management post.

Most Public sectors/stat boards their Top management are " former civil servant "

To stream line or to freeze pay can be an option
but to suggest many Gen Z major unrelated trade to join
govt sector is a waste of resource.
