Actually nothing to worry on a KL-Bangkok HSR as many in this forum now will never see it materialise.
Even for the existing 600km+ long BKK-Nong Khai (Laos) HSR project, only 12% of phase 1 is completed so far. And there is still the longer phase 2 line.
Although the Thais plan to complete the entire line by 2028, many are doubting that the deadline can be met.

For BKK to Hatyai, the distance is 900km+ .
Construction of a HSR for this section (when it is economically viable) will thus take even more years than the BKK to Nong Khai section.

SG is just a dot at the end point..
Let the 2 big countries build theirs part..
Solve all the political issue and costing.

If they want, we just biild the last part connect to JB HRS station.

If not, we can just take the mrt to JB and go across towards the JB HRS.  Big Grin

In actual ground, taking a flight to BK is still the best way to go..

Taking train must carry luggage...
Crossing borders must redo custom checking. Unlike plane flying over borders seamlessly.

Go further destination better take flight..
And HSR also not much cheaper..

.
The last terminal stops at JB makes economic sense, and all travellers can just take a short walk across causeways to Singapore.

The view along causeways is scenic

Fly to destination.
