Yale-NUS College will “cease” in 2025
#1

Quite surprising it will close down so soon, though I have always wondered whether the Yale-NUS programme is really valuable beyond the Yale name, or whether it teaches more than what NUS already does.

So it was NUS that decided to terminate the collaboration, not Yale.

Quote:The original affiliation agreement signed in 2011 between NUS and Yale has always given either party the opportunity to withdraw in 2025, said the Connecticut-based university.

On its news site, Yale University said NUS announced its intention to withdraw four years in advance, which gives current students the chance to complete their undergraduate studies as planned.

It is funny that we have such a prestigious Yale NUS but provides environmental and sciences studies when we are so small. Cant these 35 or 70 students study overseas instead?

What is MOE Minister even thinking? We really need more IT professions from our local varsities! That 3,100 quota every year is not enough.

Just look at the past several years of importing 45,000 CECA annually and relying on them for so long. Why wasnt any review done 5 years ago?

A liberal arts degree includes the study of history, literature, writing, philosophy, sociology, psychology, creative arts and more.

But what SG needs is TECHNICAL Qualifications. Didn't Tan SL do his Data Analytics and tell Chan CS?

So how? 4 years later, import more CECA, lor.

PAP is working in circles and never reaching destination.

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Petition also no use.

Not surprising that the college is to close, but It is surprising from the news that almost nobody at the university was consulted.

Did PAP come clean before hand?

Why is it like CECA, no parliament and nothing shared?

It is their Banker's Game that destroyed this university.

You are not wrong to comment that USA is so advanced in the medical/tech. skills, but the covid-19 is a new virus and it takes time to really understand this virus, before an effective vaccine is found.
