I believe it is for this reason that US and EU agreed to assist in providing deep-space communication network with  Chandrayaan-3 ...
Else there is no way the Indians will be able to maintain data and video feed from their space probe on its way to the Moon.

Since the launch of the Chandrayaan-3 mission on July 14, the ground stations of the  NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have been supporting Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to monitor the spacecraft’s health.

The Vikram lander and Pragyan rover are expected to operate for two weeks, from lunar sunrise to sunset. New images and videos will be added below as they are released.

A week after 1st successful soft landing, India's 27kg tiny six-wheeled solar-powered rover "Pragyan" has confirmed existence of several elements including sulphur, aluminium, calcium, iron, chromium, titanium, manganese, silicon and oxygen on the lunar surface in the landed area near to Moon's south pole region ...It now has at least another week of design life left to achieve its primary mission - finding solid Water...before rover risk the freezing cold of approaching 14-days long lunar night which can dip as cold as -200°C.

Latest update shows all payloads on the propulsion module, lander module, and rover are performing nominally.

India's 1st softlanded probe isn't designed to last beyond 1 Lunar day as it does not carry heating system due to Indian space program budget.

It will be a bonus if the spacecraft survive -100C super-freezing night phase without this thermal protection.

Both the lander and rover are real and carries sensors to do basic science with design life of 14 days.

Lunar landing itself is already very tough. Israel, Europeans,Japan and lately Russia have all failed in their attempts.
