Fundamentals I am not too worried. Even political actions  is probably contained as this is a global champion with 25% market share in laptops and PCs. Lenovo is a good brand as its laptops are very good compared to other manufacturers.

As the wheel of uncertainty rotates ...Lenovo which rose sharply crashed because it pulled out of a listing in STAR. For unknown reason....investors are very disappointed. 

I took the chance to BUY. ....I thought I had missed the once chance to buy Lenovo but I was thrown another pitch   I took it.

Thanks to the IPO application being withdrawn I had the chance to buy the stick at a good price.

Now up 13% in 2 weeks   ...

Hsi did not close positive today but at least it recover from low. Yet, u see it’s treading weak and correction is still on going. Not a sigh of strength in short term.

You cannot expect everyday to be up day.

HSI is a heavily speculated index that can move up and 5% in a few days but has no long term meaning.

The recent up move in Alibaba is short covering so it is likely to come down a bit. ...but that in itself has no significance to longer term prospects......

Alibaba in the end may deteriorate or thrive as business always have  risk but it has nothing to do with whether it goes up or down today..

He is almost 100yrs old and has 80yrs experience and made billions....I did not follow him when I bought anyway.....the Fifth Person discusses his decision in detail.

I don't for one minute think that this investment "sure make"....no investment is a sure thing.

But I believe Munger is seeing familiar scalable business model in Alibaba. 
....it still has alot of room

But I wouldn't buy this if I were 97yrs old because the full potential and value of the stock may take time to show up in the price ...at 97 how much time have you got?

Lenovo after good result it falls n falls. The buy up previously was not because of catch up after ipo fail but rather buy up on expectation of good result? Now sell on news

Monash Pabri sells Alibaba causing consternation among value investors.

For me it's rather simple. Alibaba stock is cheap and full of potential in cloud space. The risk is how far will the Chinese go after companies like this aka regulatory risk.

We cannot predict anything for sure and ghat is why the stock is so cheap because investors avoid uncertainty.

I consider this a risky bet so one has to be prepared if it goes the other way....

For me there is nothing to worry or lose sleep over....make or lose prepare for it have it factored in the overall strategy.

The result is a reflection of what already happened given govt came in and hindered the company's growth. So it's the same story ...same risk. I the CCP wants it to shirnk or  die, it will...

The slightly concerning thing is it has to pay higher tax as it lost is high tech special tax rate but it is not that much higher.
