Putin Miscalculated is not only a Self-inflicted, it also to kill Ukraine

June 11, Kyiv Post reportedly Russia re-deployed its surface vessels from Black Sea to the land-locked Sea of Azov for “exercises,” where Pletenchuk said that Russia is using only two of its four operational submarines in the Black Sea for periodic patrols.

Kremlin reluctance to deploy surface warships in Black Sea could likely be attributed to Ukraine’s recent history of destroying nearly a 1/3 of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet (BSF) since Moscow’s 2022 full-scale invasion, an achievement some analysis said have “crippled” the BSF fleets.

March, Kyiv reported Kremlin appointed Vice Admiral Sergei Pinchuk as new commander of Black Sea Fleet after a wave of successful Ukrainian attacks, citing British intelligence update

Putin last week said Moscow would only join peace talks if Ukraine gave up four of its regions, effectively demanding that it surrender.

22; NATO notes  23 members are meeting the mark; Riga sends Kyiv first batch of about €550M in drones. NATO members agreed to the two-percent goal at a 2014 summit at about the same time that Russia had illegally annexed Crimea. At that time, only the US, Britain, and the once-debt-laden country of Greece had met that mark. (While Athens had struggled over the past decade to keep debt below EU-imposed limits, the country had always punched above its weight in military obligations due to its age-old territorial disagreements with Turkey.)

With control of our airspace + increased means to attack Russia in depth, best bet for Ukraine is to continue to degrade Russian forces to avoid total collapse, Russia is ready to nego seriously. Putin's not ready to call for a peace talk.

Why is Russia’s Putin visiting Vietnam after North Korea?

Vietnam is a rising nation that the West wants closer ties with. The visit is a signal from Russia: Putin isn’t isolated. Putin flies to Vietnam on Wednesday evening after a day trip to North Korea for a visit to an old ally that has positioned itself as an increasingly influential geopolitical player, wooed by most major nations. He visit, among other other things, is Russia’s way of showcasing Putin is treated as a pariah by West, but still holds political clout in East, some said Communist-led Vietnam will welcome Putin for a 2-day visit, the Kremlin said. Trip comes soon as US afew days got imposed more sanctions on Moscow as Western countries reiterated their unwavering support for Ukraine – fighting into 3rd year against Russia – by agreeing to a $50bn loan for Kyiv by Group of 7 at the summit. The visit also comes days after last weekend’s Ukraine peace summit in Switzerland.

So, why Vietnam?.

While in N.Korea, where Kim Jong Un is itself a global outcast — heavily sanctioned by UN over its nuclear & missile programmes.

Vietnam is a nation that other major countries want close ties with. A rising economy and a leading exporter of garments, Vietnam today counts the US and other Western countries as important partners. India is a growing defence partner. Vietnam is also a pillar of Southeast Asian efforts to balance ties with China — keeping strong economic ties with Beijing while pushing back against perceived military threats from the Asian giant.

That backdrop makes Vietnam a choice destination for the Russian leader. “Putin will hope his Vietnam visit signals that Russia is far from isolated in Asia amid its recent Ukraine war inroads,” said Prashanth Parameswaran, a fellow at the Washington, DC-based Wilson Center. “Even though the visit has been pending for a while now and Moscow’s list of regional friends is quite short in practice,” added Parameswaran, who is also the founder of the weekly ASEAN Wonk newsletter.

The plant in southwestern Berlin caught fire on May 3, and entire western part of the capital was then enveloped in toxic smoke. Rescue services reported that four floors of the building had completely burned down, and part of the building had collapsed.

Berlin is currently studying the intelligence. But as Bild writes, it is still unclear why the metallurgical rather than the military Diehl plant was chosen.

Ukrainian Drone Swarms Swamp Russian Air Defenses – Oil Refineries and Airfield Hit. A month of Ukrainian precision strikes against Russian air defenses, particularly in Crimea, has opened the door for waves of kamikaze drones to do their stuff.

In its most ambitious massed drone raid by Ukraine in mths, swarms of Ukrainian kamikaze UAV struck Russian-controlled territory overnight. The heaviest blows targeted military bases and energy infrastructure in Russia’s southwestern Krasnodar Krai region as dozens more of Ukraine’s drones hit air defenses in Crimea or penetrated hundreds of kilometers into mainland Russia.

Russian air & sea defenses were unable to completely bring down waves of incoming unmanned aircraft, with both official social media reporting heavy fires, damage, g casualties at multiple locations.

Overall, on the night June 20-21, more then 70 Ukrainian drones attacked targets on the Crimean Peninsula.

This is another 43 attacked targets in Russia’s southwestern Krasnodar Krai region, with at least two drones flying hitting a Volgograd oil refinery, (hundreds of k/m to the east).

As usual, Russian officials said all of the aerial targets were shot down.Smile)

Joe is not zzZZZzz. He is happy to delay to Ukrainians Air fighters & it fighters pilots?.. Tongue Clappingtwo donkey years.

So 30 Pilots Grounded & Worse: Sad Truth About Joe msg to Ukrainian president, the F-16s with Ukraine desperate need to shore up its air defense to counter Russia’s advantage in the sky’s, US Joe has been disappointingly and very reluctant to offer Kyiv air capabilities. Significant movements occurred over past many months, regarding Ukraine’s future fighter capability. From 1st F-16 pilots graduating, as Ukraine may U turn.

To President Zelensky announcing of French Mirage 4th gen jets 2000 deal, US refused training for 30 Ukraine pilots. Now, there are indications US is quashing other options for pilots. (They Maybe 100% delay by U.S. president Joe).

From a well-placed, unnamed US govt source, Ukraine does in fact have 30 pilots qualified to enter US F-16 training pipeline as reported earlier week ago from Ukraine. With recent graduation of F-16 pilots from US and those from training sites in Europe, Ukraine is likely to have between 15 to 20 pilots, for 60 airframes. That is a horrible aircrew to aircraft ratio.

Arizona National Guard’s Public Affairs Officer, Maj. Erin Hannigan, shared that162nd Wing in Tucson is primary training pipeline for foreign F-16 pilots. She clarified that unit trains 30 pilots annually, based on funding allocated by Secretary of Air Force’s International Affairs division. When asked if 162nd could surge training efforts, Maj. Hannigan stated 162nd has no surge capacity even if 162nd prioritized Ukrainian pilots over those that has already been slated for training, they might be able to train 15 more this year.

Info generates more questions than answers?.
Joe Air Force Dept of Defense, & White House know primary foreign training F-16 school never had capacity to train nos of pilots needed? What was US plan to generate enough pilots (ratios)?

(OTHER TOPICS OF INTEREST)
F-16 Fighters Expected This Summer. Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, & Norway have committed to supplying Ukraine with approximately 80 American-made F-16 fighters. (Waste times)

A Big When on Joe!?,  & allies knew? receive approximately 60 F-16s, it’s hard to fathom why?. Air Force staff officers believed 15-20 pilots would be enough. Joe likely, Air Force officers knew this number is inadequate, so likely offered solutions such as re-tasking other State’s Air Guard F-16 as training dedicated to Ukraine.

Creative US Air Staff likely craft a dozen other viable plans to train Ukraine’s pilots if US leadership demanded, If there’s 1 thing US military does well, planning clearly, there was no plan to generate pilots commensurate to number of aircraft. This inadequate pilot production rates. (Perhaps crux of why Zelensky announced French fighter deal). Macron plans to deliver Mirage 2000s, 6-mths trained aircrew & maintainers ONLY. (If true, it'll be two black eyes for Joe Biden, who he has claimed are ‘moving on F-16s as fast as possible’ and why nearing two do donkey years, still not, not deliver.)

The simple truth is Biden “F-16s for Ukraine” rhetoric doesn’t match their actions with under-resourcing pilot training, Biden admin: Stated F-16s for Ukraine were “not possible” based on false operational narratives.

No changed positions, on F-16s, when forced into position by Dutch & Danes. Has yet to offer F-16s from US stocks (there are over 300 in AMARC (the boneyard). Of those 300, many at least 2 squadrons could be quickly airworthy. Offered is all been delayed by training programs, though a leaked USAF memo clearly shows training would only take Just ONIY 4 months.

U.S. leadership is playing Jekyll & Hyde. To the public, lije parrot a “full support” narrative for Ukraine. Behind closed doors, however, support is lacking,

Perhaps not surprising to Zelensky welcomes French Mirage 2000 offer by France delivers in 6 mths. Macron stated will be just one more black eye on US Joe long promised for two years, they’re moving “asap” on F-16s.

(Views expressed in this article are those of the author and reflect neither the official policy or position of the Dept of Defense or US Govt; nor do they necessarily reflect those of Kyiv Post.)
