Without the need to Fast, Islam might already be the no 1 religion..

A 2017 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition estimated that approximately 20,000 people die worldwide each year due to fasting-related complications during Ramadan.

A 2019 report by the WHO estimated the mortality rate related to Ramadan fasting as approximately 0.3-0.5 per 100,000 population, which translates to about 3,000-5,000 deaths per year, assuming a global Muslim population of about 1.8 billion.

Another study published in 2010 estimated that the annual number of deaths due to Ramadan fasting could be as high as 6,000.
