Zechariah: In the Gospel of Luke, when the angel Gabriel appears to Zechariah to announce the forthcoming birth of John the Baptist, Zechariah is gripped with fear (Luke 1:12). The angel replies, "Do not be afraid, Zechariah."

Mary: Also in Luke, when the angel Gabriel visits Mary to tell her she will conceive Jesus, Mary is troubled and confused by the greeting. The angel reassures her, saying, "Do not be afraid, Mary" (Luke 1:30).

The Shepherds: In the account of Jesus' birth, the shepherds are terrified when an angel of the Lord appears to them, and they are comforted with the message, "Do not be afraid" (Luke 2:9-10).

John: In the Book of Revelation, when the Apostle John sees an angel, he falls at the angel's feet to worship him. The angel tells him, "Do not do that! I am a fellow servant" (Revelation 19:10; 22:8-9).
