Using forests, weather, shrewd & planning, they expertly evaded Russian detection, not allowing Russian forces a single moment of peace. Their goal of Ukrainians in this area is to pin down Russians and drain their reserves in the Kursk and Belgorod frontline sectors. This way, they can prevent Russian redeployment, locking them in place & buying time for Ukrainian forces in eastern Ukraine to prepare for and counter the Russian summer offensive. Ukrainian troops struck deep into the forests of Russia’s Belgorod Oblast & behind the contact line to forus enemy to hold positions in Belgorod and Kursk.

'Oni,' U.K. Inspired by reports Ukraine's courageous resistance against Russian aggression, 24 old English-born fabrication engineer – goes by callsign "Oni" – began to rethink his life and career.

"Ukraine has been attacked constantly & defending itself for many hundreds of thousands of years. Yet it still stands strong," goes by callsign(Oni) He told Kyiv Independent. What inspired me Ukrainians don't give up always band together defending themselves against an opponent that is eight times stronger. I'ii fully put my life on the line to defend Ukrainian people. He, (Oni) sees his decision to join fight as way free up 1-Ukrainian from being mobilized. With me being here, I can take who even should been mobilized. So that someone can stay home safe look after family, I will fully put my life on the line defending Ukrainian people," he joined 25th Airborne Brigade drone as pilot in May 2024, & received military training in Ukraine fm other brigades. In short time on the field, I've accumulated a few confirmed kills & vehicle hits," he says. He recalls his first combat mission: "My 1st flight got on target immediately  accurately went straight inside blindage & achieved my first four confirmed kills.
