Even if the gov allows....you also don volunteer to fight lah...you might slow down the attacks lah..

I will of course volunteer, especially at my age, because my children are all raised and I don't have any responsibilities here anymore.

There are many others like me. If the government allows it, we can easily raise a battalion of soldiers who are already trained during NS.
