Let's go to another Islamic teaching that would solve the problems in all modern societies. We already discussed two ills, drinking and gambling. Charity. 

We are told to spend our money, but never to be wasteful. Spending money helps the economy. What is the best spending? Charity. We also have a sort of heirachy on who to spend our money and the first is the Qarib, which means my wife, my children, the people close to me. That is the one thing I love about Islam. Giving money to my wife is a good deed if done in obedience to Allah's will. She was gonna take anyway.

Charity helps the society. The Muslims are known to be charitable people.

Giving money to your wife is considered a good deed? It's more of a responsibility, lah... Usually, wealthy Arabs can afford to be charitable, but often the recipients end up getting a small faction
