Aiya....why must pasta be eaten the Italian way... .Don forget it is cheena that came up with it...Don care if the base is Indian curry or Chinese lee kum kee soy sauce , as long as the noodles are cooked to Al dente...any shit will taste nice...

I agree.  Pasta is just a noodle, and our so-called "yellow noodle" is actually a spaghetti.  It's called yellow noodles because our coolie forefathers didn't know what to call it.  They had mee kia, mee pok and the fat one....how to call leh?  Sek mee lorh.  But the boomers with their half past six Engrish had a problem or a few problems.  What to call mee kia in Engrish?  Don't noe.  Mee pok?  Also don't noe.  Just call mee pok lorh.  

Mee pok man (with the obligatory flattery):  美女! 你想吃什么呀？

Dinobu (trying to act atas by speaking Engrish):  I huan mee pok!  More chilli.

So just call it mee pok.

Then sek mee leh?  How to call?  Yellow noodles. 

So to be honest, the Italian language is pretty powderful because they have names for different shapes of noodles:  Spaghetti, Capellini, Penne, Fettuccine, Fusili, Papardelle etc.

Anyhow, if you use words like al dente and pasta, then you are talking about Italian cuisine.  And the chef will tell you to respect the recipe.  You don't fry pasta with both butter and olive oil, and then add tomato ketchup. That would be like eating at a French restaurant, ordering a chateaubriand, and asking the waiter for a Coke instead of wine.  Or even worse, Chinese tea!

If I order Seafood 生面 at a zichar stall, I would not be very happy if the cook sprinkles cheese powder on or stirs tomato ketchup into my noodles either.
