Most people accept Wikipedia as the gospel and a reliable source of information on almost everything under the sun. It describes the information being gleaned in encyclopedic detail. For the uninitiated, it provides an unblinking view of the causes of the Israel-Palestine conflict. It states something to the effect that a vast multitude denounced Hamas and explicitly condemned its conduct on 7 Oct as terrorism. There was broad support for military operations in Gaza, with strong supporters for Israel expressing solidarity for the country and asserting Israel has a right to defend itself from armed attacks.

Meanwhile, countries of the Muslim world and a chorus of pro-Palestinian protesters expressed support for the Palestinians, blaming the Israel occupation of the Palestinian territories as the root cause for the escalation of violence.
