Mr Lawrence Wong’s May Day Rally speech on 1 May drew sharp criticism from netizens who accused him of turning a workers’ celebration into a PAP campaign platform, just two days before the 3 May polls. He speaking to 1,600 union leaders & tripartite partners, Wong says PAP would stand “shoulder to shoulder” w/workers regardless of election results praised trust between PAP, NTUC, & businesses, saying: “We do not fight one another, we fight together.” & rejected claims of group & stressed need for experienced leadership amid global instability. Using a football analogy, he warned that losing “3 or 4 Cabinet players” could weaken the team.
