Ask any learned Muslim what is the religion of Jesus and he/she will tell you Jesus is a Muslim. Being a Muslim means you submit to the will of God and Jesus said ".. not my will but your will be done", meaning he was submitting to the will of the Father and that makes Jesus a Muslim. So too was John the Baptist, King David, King Solomon, Moses, Jacob, Isaac, Ishmael, and all the rest of the Jewish prophets. They all were Muslims because they all submitted to the will of the almighty God. 

Peace and blessings of God be upon all the great prophets and messengers.

And guess what? The confusion in Christendom is even more apparent today. There are even more denominations each with its own theology.

Which denomination out of the thousands there are today is the correct one? Nobody knows. Everybody says their denomination is the correct one.
