SANAA, Yemeni Houthi group targets US naval ship, several destroyers in Red Sea, on Saturday that it used naval missiles and drones to target US military ship and several destroyers in Red Sea & Gulf of Aden, & "successfully achieved" their objectives in separate "operations.
"
The Yemeni Armed Forces' naval and air forces conducted two specific military operations," Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said in a statement.
(isit the govt of Yemeni)
"First ops targeted American ship 'Propel Fortune' in Gulf of Aden with several suitable naval missiles, while 2nd operation targeted afew U.S. destroyers in Red Sea & Gulf of Aden with 37 drones, & two ops successfully achieved their goals," This was the Yemeni group's largest attack on Israeli, U.S. and British and others shipping's, while, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced downing of 15 Houthi drones in Yemen following the latter's "large-scale attack" with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in Red Sea & in Gulf of Aden starting 4am - 6:30am. (Sanaa time), Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists conducted large-scale uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) attack into Red Sea & Gulf of Aden,” CENTCOM said.
CENTCOM coalition forces identified as one-way attack (OWA) UAVs & determined they presented an imminent threat to merchant vessels, U.S. Navy, and coalition ships in the region, U.S. Navy vessels and aircraft along with multiple coalition navy ships and aircraft shot down 15 OWA UAVs.
Earlier on Saturday, CENTCOM announced a strike against two anti-ship missiles in Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen on Friday. Tensions have escalated in the Red Sea amid Houthi attacks on commercial ships suspected of having links with Israel. The Houthis say their attacks aim to pressure Israel to halt its deadly onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 30,800 people and injured over 72,400 others since an Oct. 7 cross-border offensive by the Palestinian group Hamas.
As US / UK launched airstrikes as of Jan. 12 against Houthi targets in Yemen in retaliation attacks, have created fears of new bout of inflation & supply chain disruption. Red Sea is one of the world's most frequently used sea routes for oil & fuel ships.
The Houthis have the world’s attention — and they won’t give it up
What do Yemen’s suddenly world-famous rebels really want, and what will make them stop?.
Until last week, the damage wrought by the campaign of attacks Yemen’s Houthis have been waging against shipping in the Red Sea has been mostly measured in dollars and cents. Cargo ships have made long, expensive detours around the Cape of Good Hope; a Tesla factory in Germany halted production thanks to a shortage of parts; Egypt’s cash-strapped government is struggling with the loss of Suez Canal transit fees as ships avoid the Red Sea.
But the crisis took a serious and deadly turn over the past week. Last Saturday, for the first time, the Houthis sank a ship. The tanker Rubymar was struck by a Houthi missile on February 18, and finally sank after weeks of taking on water. In the process of sinking, the Rubymar’s anchor likely damaged three key underwater telecommunications cables in the Red Sea, according to US officials. Meanwhile, the Rubymar’s cargo of 21,000 metric tons of fertilizer threatens to cause an environmental disaster.
Then on Wednesday, three sailors were killed in a missile strike on the container ship True Confidence, some 50 miles off the Yemeni coast. They were the first reported fatalities caused by the Houthi attacks.
Houthis’ Red Sea campaign is already the most disruptive, consequential, and attention-grabbing of the actions taken by the so-called “Axis of Resistance” of Iranian-backed proxy groups.

Houthi attack kills three sailors in group’s first fatal strike on shipping
Houthi-claimed missile attack on Greek-operated, Barbados-flagged commercial ship kills three sailors off the coast of Yemen.
The True Confidence bulk carrier is no longer under the command of its crew b'cos they have abandoned the vessel, UK Maritime Trade Ops.
At least three seafarers have been killed in a Houthi missile attack on a merchant ship in the Gulf of Aden, the United States military said, marking the first fatalities reported since the Iran-aligned Yemeni group began attacks against shipping in one of the world’s busiest sea lanes over
Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack on Wednesday, which set the Liberian-owned, Barbados-flagged ship True Confidence ablaze approximately 50 nautical miles (93km) off the coast of Yemen’s port of Aden.

The official IRNA news agency on March 26 said Behruz Vahedi, a member of the IRGC’s expeditionary wing, the Quds Force, had been killed in alleged Israeli air strikes on Deir al-Zor in eastern Syria.
Media close to the Syrian government have accused the United States of carrying out the strikes. Neither the United States nor Israel has commented.
Earlier, the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory For Human Rights said 13 people were killed in the attack, including 12 non-Syrian members of the IRGC.
At least 11 Iranian members of the IRGC have been killed in suspected Israeli strikes on Syria and Lebanon since the start of the war in Gaza in October.
