Where things stand.

• Israel has launched a ground incursion into Gaza City, according to officials, escalating its war in defiance of international condemnation and backlash from the families of hostages held by Hamas. The Israeli military estimates its offensive to take “several months” to complete.

• An independent United Nations inquiry has concluded that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, in what it described as the “most authoritative UN finding to date.”

• Over 10% of Palestinians in Gaza have been killed or injured since war began, Israeli military’s former chief said — a figure close to that of reported by Palestinian health ministry.
6 hr 51 min ago: Israeli president urges Europe to not turn "its back on" Israel as country grows more isolated on Tuesday, arguing that the continent will harm itself if it “turns its back on” the Jewish state.

“I want to be clear: Isolating, ostracizing & penalizing Israel is falling prey to manipulations of agents of chaos,” Herzog said at a German embassy event in Israeli city of Herzliya.

“Europe must understand: Turning its back on Israel at this time is turning its back on Europe’s own interests,” Herzog continued. “And we will all pay the price. Yes, in science and innovation, in research and culture. But especially in a weakened alliance of moderates in favor of an empowered axis of extremism. We must not allow this to happen.”

Herzog’s comments come as Israel grows increasingly isolated internationally, both for its actions in Gaza & recent strike on Qatar. Europe Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned last week. Commission will put its “bilateral support to Israel on hold,” even proposing sanctions on certain far-right members of Israeli government.

Shocked by Middle East. For first time, Israel carried out a direct strike in Doha, the capital of Qatar— a peaceful city often seen as a safe haven for Hamas leaders. But carried out a direct strike in Doha, capital of Qatar—a cit. Hamas leaders and several senior Hamas political leaders were wounded in the attack. One of them is said to be in critical condition. But what makes this strike so significant is not just the casualties—it’s the timing, the location, and it political.

Israel said to request US pressure on Egypt over military buildup in Sinai Peninsula,m according to Channel 12 news, as Jerusalem alleges Cairo is accumulating forces there in violation of the peace treaty between the countries.

Citing US and Israeli officials, report says PM Benjamin Netanyahu raised the matter with visiting US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and that the alleged violations include the construction of runways for fighter jets and underground sites that appear to be designed for storing missiles.

The Israeli sources are quoted as saying that, though there is no evidence that missiles are indeed being stored in the underground sites, Egypt has not provided sufficient answers when asked.

Palestinians Stranded west in West Bank as Israel shuts only international crossing.

Israel has closed the only crossing between Israeli-occupied West Bank & neighbouring Jordan, stopping more than 2 million Palestinians from accessing outside world. The Israeli airports authority, which oversees the Allenby Bridge crossing, said it would be closed indefinitely from Wed. "a direction political leadership" did not provide a reason. The closure has stranded many Palestinians in the West Bank, unable to go on planned trips abroad. Those who are abroad have been unable to travel home.
It comes days after two Israeli military personnel were shot dead near the crossing by a Jordanian gunman, who was killed at the scene.

It was briefly shut following that incident but had since reopened.
Prominent Palestinian politician Mustafa Barghouti told BBC the closure was a "dangerous move" that meant "imprisoning" people in the West Bank and "depriving them from the only passage out". The crossing - also known as the King Hussein Bridge - lies about halfway between Amman and Jerusalem and is the only official crossing point between West Bank and Jordan. It is also the only entry point to the West Bank that does not go through Israel. Most Palestinians in the West Bank are not allowed to travel through Israeli airports or other Israeli border crossings, meaning the bridge is an essential connection to the outside world. "You're talking here about disrupting the relationship between hundreds of thousands of families who are usually connected through Jordan," Barghouti said. "Thousands of people who are stuck in Jordan, they don't have resources to go and pay for hotels.

They cannot stay outside. There are mothers who live with their children in the West Bank who need to come back," he added. Jordan is home to more than 2m registered Palestinian refugees, while more than half of its population of more than 11m are of Palestinian descent. It has maintained security, trade and diplomatic ties with Israel since a 1994 peace treaty - but is a vocal critic of Israel's actions towards Palestinians. Maxim Giacaman, 23, a medical student from Bethlehem, told the BBC he was unable to travel abroad for a key elective in his medical studies.
"I have a rotation for one month in Germany for cardiac surgery," he said. "And it was a big opportunity for me and for my future, my medical future."
"My plane is on Saturday and I was planning to go to Amman, Jordan today," he says. "So it's miserable."

There are no immediate reports of impacts or injuries. Sirens had sounded in central Israel and in several southern West Bank settlements.

The Houthis, an Iran-backed terror group, have repeatedly attacked Israel with ballistic missiles and drones, saying they are doing so in support of Gaza amid Israel’s war there against Hamas.

1) According to Qatar’s prime minister says that several points in US President Trump’s plan for Gaza require clarification and negotiation, but he hopes that all parties will “view the plan constructively and seize the opportunity to end the war”.

2) Hamas’s negotiating team is studying Trump’s 20-point plan to end Israel’s war on Gaza.

3) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he agreed to the plan in a news briefing with Trump at the White House, as Israeli forces continued to escalate attacks on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 59 people since dawn.

4) Palestinians in Gaza have said the plan raises many questions, including what a proposed international stabilisation force for the enclave might look like. And...
