Ya,, at this level now all kateks who shorted this morning would have been taken out. It was a katek trap set up by CCP and pro traders to trap kateks.  

Double lao hong ....trap another group of retailer then take down.

Pro traders stay out of such choppy trading days or trade scalps. Amateur traders get run over in both directions.

.anyway the reason why I decided to do short term trades is because the HSI and HS Tech has abnormally high short term volatility...it is different from other markets.

From the time this thread started until today the.total return of HSI is near zero for the period of more than 1yr yet day traders can squeeze much profits from short term volatility

The wild swings in the stock market sure suit you down to the ground. As an intraday trader with a huge risk appetite, you need volatility to ride the waves of price fluctuations. A quiet market, on the other hand, is hardly conducive to fast or multiple trades since stocks spend most of their time bouncing around in trading ranges that frustrate all but the sharpest traders. Quick rewards are scarce, with more and more people fighting over smaller and smaller scraps of return.

Finally the bull has decided it's had enough of the battering! After eons in the doldrums, it staged a furious rally late last month. Usually, the longer the price consolidation, the more explosive the rally - or conversely the plunge - in prices. If this is the beginning of a new bull market, it's risky to take the bull by the horns and short the market against its forward momentum. It's, however, less risky to go with the flow and buy on a dip in prices, knowing it will resume its march onward to the summit.

Anecdotally, an awful lot of market punters had profited from the small fluctuations in prices. Their initial success in turning tiny profits bolstered their confidence, and they thought they'd found a winning formula for successful trading. Some increased the volume of their trades. The inevitable happened - the market moved against them big time. They were caught on the wrong side of the markets trend - either upward or downward. Not only did they "return" the profits they'd made earlier, they also lost much of their own hard-earned money. Do exercise caution and tread lightly. Best of luck!
